We were pretty disappointed to find out they had run out of jokbal on their grand opening day and weren’t able to get more in time for today. We ended up ordering the pork bone soup for two instead, and it definitely did not disappoint! The portion was very generous, more than enough for the two of us even though my partner is a big eater. The soup was clean, flavorful, and comforting without tasting artificial at all. It really tasted like authentic Korean homemade food. The owner and family were also so apologetic about not having the jokbal we came for and kindly offered us egg soup and goroke. All of the side dishes tasted fresh and delicious as well. Despite not getting what we originally came for, we left very happy with our meal. I can’t wait to come back and finally try the jokbal. Based on everything we had today, I’m sure it will be excellent! We did go back and tried Buljokbal and Spicy buckwheat noodles combo we wanted! It was deliciously spicy and we brought back almost half of jokbal home cause the portion was so generous for two of us. This is by far my favorite restaurant and can’t wait to go back and taste all the other items on the menu.

I will definitely come back from Calgary to try out! Pork cutlet is a MUST menu with chef's secret recipe 😋 so crispy outside and super soft inside. I cannot imagine how he cooked this way. Tendon soup was incredible, I've never seen this many tendons in the soup! I wish you are in Calgary as well. Thanks for the amazing experience 👍🇰🇷

I think this place has amazing potential and the food ingredient quality stood out the most. It tastes really fresh and homemade. They accidentally added the pork with the fish tonkatsu and gave it to us anyways. It was very generous of them. I liked both proteins and the fish in particular was very flaky and fresh, without significant heaviness associated with most katsu foods. The bulgogi was less spectacular. They use too much cabbage in the dish and try to mix the bulgogi meat within the stirfry rather than do them separately. The problem is that when they add too much cabbage, it releases a lot of water and the marinade they use for the bulgogi gets washed away more easily, leaving a meat that is underseasoned. The water in the bottom of the dish and the associated juices contained more of the flavour than the meat itself. If there's any feedback, it would be that they should either use less cabbage in their dish or stir fry these components separately before putting it on the hot plate. The Korokke potato dish should be labelled more appropriately. They say 6 pieces... but in reality, it is 3 pieces cut in half to make 6. I'd rather you just have 3 pieces, or make 6 smaller pieces. Doing it that way but advertising as 6 is misleading. The taste was pretty good otherwise. Another feedback would be that it would be nice to know if the side dishes come with refills or not. The server did not tell us that. We didn't ask for more as we were not sure. Many other Korean establishments do offer refills of banchan. The main courses did not come out at the same time and the owner described that they were backed up. I sympathize with them, but also recognize that they can work out their issues as they become more established. They compensated us by comping the bulgogi dish for taking too long to come back, which I appreciated a lot. This place is worth coming back again and I'm sure it will continue to improve. Without question, there are areas of improvement that are required before this becomes an exceptional restaurant but it's above average for sure. I hope that Edmonton can show it some love as they would appropriately earn everyone's trust, given time. I wish them the best and I hope to try other things the next time.
