The background

Canada’s 100 Best ranks Mon Lapin No. 2 in the country for 2026, eight years after it opened, and describes it as “somewhere between neighbourhood hangout and destination dining.” Co-chefs Jessica Noël and Marc-Olivier Frappier write a menu that “reads simply,” while co-sommeliers Vanya Filipovic and Alex Landry lean on growers from the Jura, Piemonte, Champagne, Sicily and Galicia.

The Michelin Guide calls it “an absolute cornerstone of the Montreal scene.” The name, Michelin notes, honours Jura winemaker Jean-François Ganevat, who calls all his friends “mon lapin” (“my rabbit”).

What to order

  • Whatever the team suggests. Canada’s 100 Best’s tip: “Let the team lead.”
  • Past dishes named by Canada’s 100 Best: black Roma tomatoes stuffed with Rimouski urchin, the croque-pétoncle, and pappardelle with ragù bianco and chestnuts.
  • Michelin points to meats matured on site, very fresh fish, house-made pasta and sorbets.

The menu changes constantly; treat these as examples.

Before you book

Book early. Reservations open 30 days ahead and, per Michelin, are “snapped up in the blink of an eye.” Wine is half the reason to come, so don’t plan on a short night.
