The food was extremely creative and interesting and I absolutely loved that it was so different from any other restaurant I've been to. It is an experience for sure. The space is beautiful. Some of the flavours were incredible (absolutely loved some of the snacks, the squash/curry/yogourt dish and the mille-feuille, and the milk bread was phenomenal). That said, I agree with the reviewer who said the wine pours felt restrictive. I actually went home after and out of curiousity measured 1, 2 and 3 oz pours in my own wine glasses and I think I can confidently say that most pours were at MOST 1oz. It was barely enough to taste with the food. Certainly there was nothing left to sip between courses. Two people getting a wine pairing, paying $165+tax+tip each (so about $220 each/$440 total for about 7oz of wine each) didn't give me a great feeling. I certainly did not come looking for a good deal but NGL, I felt a bit ripped off on the wine pairing. I think this is a really unique dining destination in Ottawa and I do recommend it for a splurge night for people who are really into food and interested in its creative possibilities. Total price paid for two people, inclusive of wine pairing and tip is about $1,040.

Service was detailed in explaining every wine paring. This restaurant will be on the top for a Michelin star when itโs coming to Ottawa. Chef owner Brianna Kim and her team have stepped up from the previously owned Alice.
Spectacular dishes, service and interior. Absolutely outstanding creativity with cuisines revolving around fermentation. Both wine and fermented beverages are worth trying as well. Briana Kim is an amazing chef!

We have been wanting to try Chef Briana Kimโs food since we heard about Alice (her previous restaurant) a few years ago. The wait was well worth itโwe loved this vegetarian tasting menu. We have had the pleasure to dine at some great Michelin restaurants around the world, and this is right up there with the best. The flavours were some of the most unique Iโve ever tried, with the curry & yogurt dish being the highlight for me. The chefโs table gave us the opportunity to interact with all of the talented staff at the restaurant; they were all very knowledgeable, courteous, and most importantly they seemed to be enjoying themselves. Go try out Antheia, you wonโt regret it!

Having experienced numerous vegan tasting menus worldwide, this one unquestionably stands at the very top. The fermentation techniques are remarkably inventive and executed with great precision and depth of flavor. We very much look forward to returning. Many thanks to the outstanding team behind this experience.

- Skip if: You need step-free access (two flights of stairs, no elevator), have allergies, or are a party of more than four
The background
Antheia enters Canada’s 100 Best at No. 76 for 2026. The list praises chef-owner Briana Kim’s “innovative, fermentation-forward artistry” and a tasting menu of nine vegetarian dishes with “finely calibrated, balanced flavours and almost meaty savouriness.”
On Tock, the restaurant describes itself as a sixteen-seat fermentation R&D lab and chef’s counter, with the kitchen and lab built into the dining space.

What to order
- The tasting menu, the only option: $250 plus service and tax (Tock). Canada’s 100 Best’s example is house-made sesame tofu with seaweed mole and nori-infused chia in a pine-smoked tea broth.
- The condiments: preserved figs in black-garlic oil and blackened beets in ancho paste, per Canada’s 100 Best.
- A pairing: wine or house-made non-alcoholic drinks, both called “solid” by the list.
Before you book
Read the rules before you book. The restaurant says it cannot accommodate most allergies, and late arrivals get a shorter menu.
