While the mountain views were unfortunately masked by the smoke during our visit, the incredible culinary experience completely made up for it! The food here is exceptional. The Lamb ribs, Mushroom Ragout, and Butcher's Cut (Steak) were absolutely legendaryโhonestly, every single item we ordered was great. The drinks were just okay, but the service was top-notch from start to finish. Whether you want to sit back with some wine or beer and enjoy the summit atmosphere, or sit down for a lavish, high-quality meal, this is the perfect spot. Highly recommend including a reservation here as part of your Banff Gondola itinerary!

But the real issue I had here was the food. Its OK. Understood that you pay more to eat on top of the mountain, so its not the prices or portion sizes that are at issue. Alpine Ceasar with a very stemmy arugula salad with some vinegarette dressing and hard stale-ish croutons. Duck breast had nice flavor, but too chewy. Fried eggplant was over-fried with a tiny dab of sauce in the corner. We actually enjoyed our time there, and the food wasn't all that bad, but they could do a lot better. Had much better meals in town and in Canmore, so I'd pass on this one. Make sure to climb all the way to the Sulfur Mt. observation deck. That's the real draw here.

We appreciated the secure, well-maintained high chair provided for our one-year-old. The roasted broccolini and creamy mushrooms were delicious, the lamb ribs were beautifully presented with a flavourful sauce. Our vegetarian pasta (pappardelle) and eggplant dishes were also nicely prepared. We felt the portions could have been a little more generous, but we loved how beautifully everything came together with the garnishes and side salad. I wish they had more variety in the menu to experiment with. The mocktails deserve a special mention, refreshing and delicious. Breathtaking beautiful mountain view. You can even see the cosmic ray station from the bistro. We had a genuinely wonderful time at Sky Bistro with our little one. The service, atmosphere, presentation, and flavours made it a memorable experience. We were also pleasantly surprised with the complimentary dessert: cake with delicious raspberry sauce; such a thoughtful touch. Thank you, Sky Bistro, for making our family visit so enjoyable!

The location of SkyโฏBistro is truly worldโclass โ right at the peak, with fresh mountain air and panoramic views of the Rockies. Itโs an unforgettable place to enjoy a meal while watching the sunset. The food and drinks were good, and the chef personally approached each table to greet guests and ask for feedback, which felt warm and welcoming. However, the overall service experience didnโt fully match the premium setting and price. I planned to spend about 1โ1.5 hours for dinner. Even though I arrived more than an hour early, I still waited around 10 minutes to be seated. Once seated, the pacing felt rushed โ I finished my meal in under 30 minutes and only half of my drink. Several small details reflected this hurried feeling. After ordering, the server cleared another tableโs setting but also removed my napkin by mistake, which I had to request again. Two water glasses remained even after my drink order. When paying the bill, the process felt rushed, almost as if guests were expected to leave quickly. The meal itself was cooked well and served promptly, but communication afterward was minimal. The server only returned once to ask about dessert, and I eventually had to ask another staff member for the bill because my server was engaged with other guests. SkyโฏBistro remains a unique, beautifully located restaurant, and the chefโs personal engagement was a highlight. With more attention to pacing and guest communication, the service could truly match the worldโclass environment and price point.

Be prepared for wind and enjoy the breath taking views. .We spent more time after dinner taking photos inside. There was the floral and brunch festival, where there were setup photo opportunities. Although we requested a table for 2 by the window, we were placed at a table for 4 close to the windows. By the end of the evening, we decided it was actually better as everyone wants to look at the view. We would have been constantly felt like we were being stared at or in someone's picture potentially. The service was attentive and the food was delicious. We received a complimentary chocolate cake with chocolate ganache on top. Overall, we were very happy with where we celebrated our wedding anniversary dinner. As I consider the gondola fee pricey to do on a frequent basis, this was a treat and experience
